离开是为了寻找更理想的栖息地

还没有介绍自己的新工作，我却已经辞职了。没想到我也会这么做，曾经告诉自己任何工作都要做长久一点，不要只待了两三个月就走人，让履历好看一些。我不想成为试用期未满就离开的一群，但事与愿违，有时候情况真的让人逼于无奈。

我想这是我从之前的工作经历领悟到的，如果发现工作环境与内容不符自己，就应该当机立断，避免越陷越深。于是，我做了这个决定。这份工作薪酬不错，比起之前的好太多，所以离开不是为了待遇的问题。总结这三个月的观察，我不能接受这样的作业方式和工作内容。尽管有人说我不该因此而辞职，但我知道自己的决定是对的。

我不担心找不到工作，我只在乎能不能找到自己想要的工作。我需要一个确定的方向，安定下来，全情投入。我深信Donald Trump 说的，“如果你不热爱你的工作，你永远不可能成功。”

红颜薄命

昨天在网上看到有中学生被绑架并惨遭撕票的传闻，由于报章未报导，不知道是不是真的。今早报章的封面新闻就刊登了该惨案，被撕票的是一名年僅16岁的女中学生，就读我毕业的中学，让人不住心寒。据知嫌犯是一批16至22岁的少年，绑架了死者后，毒手将她杀害并烧尸。凶狠的程度让人发指，尤其凶徒还是一群年纪轻轻的少年，真替他们的父母难过。

是不是因爱成恨的结果，已经没有必要揣测。唯一关注的是能不能将凶徒全部绳之以法，并将他们判刑。很担心他们会被轻判，甚至到最后不了了之。死刑似乎起不了作用，终身监禁比较有效，让其他囚犯好好调教他们。如果被轻判，他们出来后势必成为市民攻击的目标。

这世界已经够乱了，为什么同样是大马人，同样是华人，却要自相残杀，做出这种丧心病狂的事。希望身为家长的各位一定要好好管教子女，同时也要关注孩子的安全。愿死者安息。

抵制月饼到底

去年我已经说了，我会杯葛月饼，今年不例外。月饼包装一年比一年夸张、恐怖。价格还是一样贵得不可思议。我想不通月饼为何要卖这么贵，如果你是行家，麻烦指点我迷津。是原料太贵，还是制作过程很复杂精细？

再次呼吁各位不要购买过度包装的月饼，过度的包装奢华又不环保，浪费金钱也浪费资源。过度包装、炒高价的月饼已经扭曲了庆中秋的意义，大家不要再盲目跟风，做不必要的花费。

最近电视播出的白兰氏鸡精广告，由新加坡VJ Utt 担任主角。Utt 在广告中扮演节目主持人，在走进摄影棚途中迅速并准确地回答工作人员的各种疑问。其中一人就问到，"What do you call a pregnant goldfish?"
Utt 答，"A twit."


广告里的中文字幕将该答案翻译为“还是金鱼”，这题目引起了我的好奇心，怀孕的动物也需要专属名词？不过像英文这么巴贝的语文，如果真是有也不出奇。在网络上查找资料，发现这题目在网上是流传已久的fun-trivia。对于这问题，网友们做了分析，首先，"怀孕"基本上是哺乳动物专用的名词。鱼是下蛋的，体内孵有蛋的鱼称不上是怀孕，只能说是egg-laden fish.

再来，twit这个字的意思和鱼扯不上关系。翻查字典和网上字典，twit是指愚蠢的人。所以我想，根本没有怀孕的金鱼这回事。说怀孕的金鱼叫twit 是暗讽思考这题目的人愚蠢。对于twit 这字的进一步分析，可参考这里。
